On our second day we headed out to visit the Danish Design Museum which had a terrific collection illustrating the history of Danish Design. Before the museum, though, we had to stop at the tiny little Kafferiet on Esplanade to get our coffee fix and a tasty breakfast treat.
We walked through the Queens Gardens (Kongens Garde) and saw the Hans Christian Andersen statue amongst the beautiful autumn leaves.
Heading back into the main part of town, we had lunch at the Torvehallerne that we had spotted the day before and resting up back at the flat before seeing Nick Cave in the evening. The gig was really great and the band was in top form – Nick Cave is a total, brilliant git and Warren Ellis can’t really help being just so Warren Ellis. Unfortunately, Danes all seem to be seven feet tall so I couldn’s see a damn thing, but the sound was great and what I could see through the parting of blond heads in front of me was really fun. A dirty kebab was all we needed on the walk back to our temporary ‘home’ in Nørrebro.
