It’s been a busy few weeks with lots of travelling (in fact, I’m away right now as well!), but they have all been really exciting trips to see places we’ve never been to before. I was excited to visit Stockholm to compare it to other Scandinavian cities we’ve visited (Oslo, Copenhagen).
While I really liked the city and there were lots of fun things to do, I didn’t really find it that beautiful, so the camera stayed in my bag most of the time! Nevertheless, we packed a lot into a short trip.
Our main purpose for the trip was to see Reigning Sound, one of Tom’s favourite bands. They played a great gig at Debaser Sound on Södermalm, the island/suburb where we stayed. In fact, we mostly stayed in Södermalm, eating Thai, Indian and even Persian – the food was really great!
We did venture out to the Moderna Museet for a dose of modern art and had the pleasure of a ferry ride (just another part of the public transport!) back afterwards. Tom’s brother was also in the city with his girlfriend on a European vacation, so of course we spent plenty of time catching up with them. We all went on an afternoon excursion to Tyresta National Park where we explored the natural environment and had a picnic of cinnamon buns by one of the beautiful lakes.
