July 2014 was pretty busy for Tom and me. We had just packed up and moved from Germany to France, found a new flat and Tom started a new job. I was about to start Ironhack and begin a new career.
It was also when my dear friend Vikki got married in the Scottish Highlands and she had asked us to join them. It was a magical, beautiful trip, the only problem was that it was sadly far too short.
We arrived at Glasgow airport and picked up two friends from Melbourne then hired a car to drive up to a little village near Loch Moidart where we stayed in an old baronial manor house(!). The wedding ceremony was held in a small glade nearby then we celebrated long into the night in an enormous teepee set up on the grounds of the manor.
It was absolutely smashing, and I completely fell in love with Scotland. Tom and I hiked up a big hill to get a view of the loch and watch a storm roll in. While the weather was admittedly a little… err… Scottish, it was absolutely perfect.
